The scenario : If the Orbi Pro's WAN connection is to another router that's connected to the Internet, the Orbi Pro's VPN config doesn't "see" the external Internet address. With dynamic DDNS turned off, the VPN download package has 0.0.0.0 as the address and not 214.34.12.3 (for example). Other files have 0.0.0.0 embedded in them, so it's not a simple fix of just "typing in the Internet address" into the .ovpn file. IF dynamic DNS is enabled, the no-ip.com / other providers DDNS address is passed over to the VPN section and an active Internet address is included in the VPN download package. This is fine IF you need dynamic DNS. If you have a static Internet IP address, then you don't need dynamic DNS. The solution is either : 1. Fix the 0.0.0.0 issue where Orbi Pro checks to see what Internet address it can actually see (it has Internet access to all of the VLANs, because if you open a browser on a device connected to the VLANs, you can access the Internet), and it automatically adds the correct Internet address to the VPN download package. or 2. Add a section on the Orbi Pro VPN config page to allow the static Internet address to be manually entered, so the correct Internet address is added to the VPN download package. Thanks

Please allow the "Pro" series router to route without NAT. This is expected in a "Pro" environment. We have many clients that have static ip address ranges and would love to use this router, but the lack of routing without NAT prevents us from ever recommending or using this router in these environments. Please stop thinking like your old home appliances, and starting thinking about SMB environments. Automatic NAT is great for home when you have a single, usually dynamic ip address. It is NOT appropriate when you have a business environment with multiple static ip addresses.

I find it insane that the Orbi does not support any secure DNS protocols like DNS over TLS or HTTPS. I am not sure if I had bought this product had I realized that. Please add this to your backlog.

Greetings! I am leveraging the VPN function on the Orbi which is using the OpenVPN. I have not been having a problem until around early last year when our connections using OpenVPN are now showing this error: WARNING: Compression for receiving enabled. Compression has been used in the past to break encryption. Sent packets are not compressed unless "allow-compression yes" is also set. DEPRECIATED OPTION: --cipher set to 'AES-128-CBC' but missing in --data-ciphers (AES-256-GCM: AES-128-GCM). Open VPN ignores --cipher for cipher negotiations OpenVPN has made this change to remove compression way back in 2023-01. So this compression issue is preventing connection with VPN. Why hasn't NETGEAR been keeping up with this and making changes to VPN with Firmware upgrades. How can I fix this issue and get my VPN back up and running?

#PR60X Hello, Currenthy, the pro router PR60X doesn't have the ability to manage connection trought the access control as the BR200 or BR500. Is it possible to implement it because the access control by mac addres is more secure and it easyer to mange it directly from the router? 😎 Best Regards Farrenard

Hi, Using Insight we can do a speedtest to see how fast the connection is. I’m using a PR60X with a 4Gbps fibre connection but running speedtest from the router (both via Insight or the local GUI) it doe not reflects my line speed. Using a computer wired connected to the 10Gbps lan port is works just fine BUT I have to select a specific speedtest server. It seems not all servers ready for testing a high speed connection. So I would like to have a feature what gives me the option to select a speedtest server manually! Rgd Rob

The fan speed is fixed to 4000 RPM, can this be changed to smart as the switch is not installed in a server cabinet. the tempeture is als stable. i think it should ajust itself according toe what the switch needs for cooling. I would like to know if this is possible.

Routers like Ubuiquiti allow devices on main VLAN to initiate connection with devices on IoT VLAN, but protect devices on main VLAN from IoT devices being able to connect to them. Unfortunately Network Isolation feature in Orbi Routers isolates all devices on VLAN so that no device outside VLAN can connect them. This is too limited and makes the feature of separating IoT devices into a separate IoT VLAN almost useless, because way too often devices on Default VLAN (e.g. Phone or Laptop) need to connect to IoT devices to be able to control them. The only way to achieve this is by disabling Network Isolation feature, which then completely negates the whole security value of IoT VLAN separation. I am quite disappointed that an Orbi Pro range of routers does not have such a simple firewall rules definition capability. IoT VLAN is presented as a major security feature of the router that on the surface makes sense, but only when used in reality turns out to be totally unusable the way it is currently implemented in Orbi Pro Routers. I really hope a firmware update is released to correct this major flaw.

I am setting a WiFi network with organization-wide SSID enabled using Insight Web Portal. When I try to enable the Basic Captive Portal, an error message "Only alphanumeric characters and special characters !"#$%&'()*+,-.\/:;<=>?@[]^_`{|}~ are allowed". With further checking on my EULA, the portal declines any special characters listed in the mentioned error message be included in my EULA. In another word, the system allows my to use "By using the WiFi service provided by our organization" as my EULA, but prohibits me to use "By using the WiFi service provided by our organization,". The last "comma" trigger the error message. Maybe this is a bug?

WAX214 Firmware Version: V1.0.2.3 This unit displays a blinking amber power light if contact with the DHPC service is lost. The problem is the power light continues to blink amber even if the DHPC service is restored which means it can indicate the error long after it has gone. There are many reasons the DHPC service could go down temporarily, for instance a device updating on the network infrastructure, so it would make sense if the Power Indicator returned to the normal green state once connection to the DHCP service is restored. Additionally it would be helpful if this error could appear in the devices error log.

Hi, I am using 2 access points from NETGEAR into my house. A WAX615 for my cellar and a WAX630E for my house. I also have an access point for my garage which is included into my internet box which is a freebox delta. These 3 access points have different SSIDs. Since the beginning I have problems with my WAX630E because connection are unstable and my cell phone is always loosing the internet connection. I also have some cameras for my home alarm (SOMY indoor and outdoor cameras) which are not working. SOMFY help me with a remote diagnostic and conclude with a very bad internet connection. The camera which was not working is connected onto the WAX630E access pojnt. I have tried many options in the access point without any succes and finally I have changed the canal from auto to manual and everything has worked again into my house. I do not understand why so an expansive access point is not able to select the proper canal for WiFI when the internet box from FREE can do this quite easy as it is the only access point that worked all the time. Can you please check and upgrade the firmware so the access point can select automatically the best canal for the WiFi networks ? I am constantly upgrading the firmware but the probelm has never been solved. Regards.

As a managed switch with 10Gbe uplink ports it is rather surprising that this switch has not been added to Insight - especially when the GS110TPV3 is supported in Insight and costs half as much as the 110EMX. the 110EMX is a very useful switch to use at the edge of small networks where remote management would be extremely useful

In the User Manual (page 14), it is recommended that M3 x 20mm screws be used for mounting the router to the wall. This was very helpful but I'd like to see the type of screw head added to the screw info (I found tha the 'Pan head' type works best for me. I'd also suggest adding the distance between the screw holes (center of hole to center of hole). That, or even an overlay drawing that the user can print and then use the printout as a template on the wall. Thanks again ! Jeff-

Although the AX18000 has VPN support for Pure VPN, how about adding OpenVPN and Wireguard VPN support ? I've had the router for 20 days, I'm content with it's functionality on the whole. That said, I had some issues with the setup due to the device wanting to do the setup on it's own. I'm a network engineer and would prefer a command shell from which to set things up. Preferences aside, it's doing the job quite well at this point. Thanks, and looking forward to your reply. Jeff-

It make zero sense to me that Netgear would offer to separate out an IoT network to put all of ones smart home devices on and then advertise the IoT network to all by not hiding it. My crappy cable modem can hide networks. It seems to me a network no-one knows is there might be more secure.

Model Version: GS308E Firmware: V1.00.11EN OS: Windows 11 Request: Allow users to manually enter rates for Ingrees/Egress. At this time, one can only select between several presets, from 512Kbit/s to 512Mbit/s. Ideal solution: Users should be able to enter rates manually. Use case scenario: My internet speed is 15Mbit download and 0.5Mbit upload. When someone uses Wifi in the household, my Ping jumps in games. I got a GS308E to limit usage, but found out that the lowest limit I can use for ingrees is 512Kbit/s, which is still more than I have with my provider. As a result, when someone uploads something my ping goes up to 700-900ms. Also, I would like to limit egress to 5Mbit/s, and I can only select between 4 and 8. It seems like a pretty basic feature to have, so I'm hoping this can be introduced in a future firmware update, especially the lower limit for ingress. Thank you!

We receive weekly email messages about credits that are about to expire or have already expired. However, this does not state which organization or device it concerns. Now it becomes a puzzle every time. It would be nice to generate a report of all organizations in our portal. For example: I would like to receive every week an overview of all credits from all organizations by email, preferably with the expiration date.

I offer RBK 352 model to several businesses, and I need to manage it later after installation, but in the Orbi app, I can only mark it with the model name as in the picture. In situations where you have to manage like me, it should have to easily know which model is which business. I hope I can change the name instead of the model name so that I can know easier.
