Hi folks I’d like to request an addition to the engage controller. Since lots of us are deploying these switches on fibre runs it would be great to get a read out of received optical power in the engage controller - basically the same stuff you get from “show fiber-ports optics all” in the CLI, without having to ssh into each switch to get it. It’d be neat if it also had a red/amber/green display to quickly spot bad links. Thank you!

I own an XS724EM 24-port 10G switch. It runs warm to the touch, and the default fan profile seems to err on the side of low noise rather than cooling. Tech support says that the switch is designed to spin down fans entirely unless a certain temperature threshold is reached. Personally, I would prefer to see more aggressive cooling, even if meant slightly more fan noise. So my feature request is twofold: Basic temperature monitoring (ambient, internal) in the admin GUI. All I want is a simple readout of how warm the switch currently thinks it is. Basic manual fan control in the admin GUI. I'm envisioning something like the "Cool/Balanced/Quiet" drop-down menu (see image) found on ReadyNAS units. I know the managed switches have functionality along these lines. To me, this basic temperature monitoring and control seems like it should definitely be included on Smart/Plus switches too.

Hello, We use insight pro and have onboarded quite a few clients. Since every device we onboard comes with a 1 year device credit, we tend to have credits expiring almost every month. We also have monthly billing enabled. The issue is that there is a large banner warning about device credit expiration in both the web and mobile apps. Since we have monthly billing enabled, it would be great to be able to hide or remove this banner since it confuses our techs and takes up a lot of space (especially in the mobile app). We are basically stuck with this banner most months. Thanks, Jason

Is it possible to add an email notification for a switch port state change on Netgear cloud managed switches with insight please? Looks like Cisco Meraki can do this and it would be great to know if someone is connecting or disconnecting devices to the switch or if a LAN host has gone offline. Many thanks in advance Joe

We would love the ability to integrate our Insight tenant with our Duo SSO and manage all our admins from a single pane of glass. Duo supports may different MFA integrations the primary integration being SAML 2.0. This will also help us ensure that all of our managers are using MFA when logging in to Insight.

Would be nice to have easier and better way for PoE Schedule on this switch. In firmware 1.0.1.6 there is slider that's not working so great, and you can set up only once per day turning on and off. Would be better to have more choice. I like how Ubiquiti has managed this. You can enter time manualy or use slider, and can enter unlimited number per each day. Hope to have this option on Multi-Gigabit Ethernet Plus Switch (MS108EUP) as well. Thanks

Please add TLS v1.2 support to the M4100-50G-POE+ switch. The lastest firmware version available for this product is 10.0.2.35 which does not include TLS v1.2 support.

Please implement tag based vlan functionality on the internal switch of the Orbi Pro router/satellites. The product is meant for 'Pros'...so this should be no deal. When using a Netgear switch behind the Orbi Pro it would be a great benefit for the 'Pro Users' to be able to utilize tag based VLAN ports on the Orbi. Currently, different VLANs being configured on one switch can not be mapped to the Orbi router due to the fact that one port on the router can only belong to one VLAN at a time. A proper VLAN membership configuration and PVID configuration per port is needed. Addition: The term 'Trunk' port is used differently on the Orbi Pro than it it used on the Netgear switches, which can be (and is) confusing.

Dear Netgear & Orbi Pro Supporter I recently bought the Orbi SXR80 router and want to use VPN to remotely connect to my office. But I am amazed that the certificates for the connection cannot be changed in the administration interface. VPN is unusable because if the certificate falls into the wrong hands, anyone can connect to my device via VPN. This happens quickly if a cell phone is lost or stolen. Why not add a function to change the certificate? This should be very easy to do. According to the following link, this was apparently already planned: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi-Pro-WiFi-for-Small-Business/Orbi-Pro-SRK60-Revoke-OpenVPN-client-certificate/m-p/2139485 This function is also required by other users: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi-Pro-WiFi-for-Small-Business/How-to-renew-VPN-private-key/m-p/1689399 I urgently ask you to install this function, because without a VPN switched on is a major security problem! Kind regrads Carlos

Problem statement: GS324T deactivates the port due to suspected DDoS, but most likely it is a false positive - tuning is not really possible due to the missing information (in the log) about the reason(s). The Switch log shows only one line: <11> Apr 11 04:55:29 Main Home Switch-1 DOS[dtlTask]: dos_api.c(1928) 2115 %% ERR Interface g12 has been shutdown by DOS attack notification. Based on the reply on my post in the forum here, it looks like there is no possibility to have more information in the log, and identify the real reasons, what exactly has triggered the port deactivation. Hence, there is no possibility to "tune" the DDOS settings and avoid the "False Positive". In other words: only "blind" tuning possible. Ask: To have the possibility to get more details about DDoS to the log e.g. by having different log level for DDoS, up to the additional information what exactly / what "active" parameter in DDoS settings has triggered the port deactivation. Thanks, Andrey

I have a couple issues with this BR200 that I installed today at a customer site. 1) no remote administration option: I understand that the intention is to use insight, but I would still like to use the web gui on the router remotely 2) insight management doesn't have QOS based on MAC or DSCP or IP 3) insight management doesn't have setting for port forwarding/triggering 4) can I not get into the admin web console UI of the br200 from Insight, so I can see the same interface that I see when I am local to the br200 (this is the one that leaves me scratching my head). This seems like an obvious option that I can't find on insight, am I missing it? 5) my $50 cheapo router has remote admin for all the settings in it, why not the BR200? I like the idea of having every netgear device that I manage centralized in a single portal, but I need way more control then what appears to be there now. This is not working for me. I now have to go back to the site tomorrow to set up a port forward to a local device on the network.

Given that this is marketted as a 'Pro' poduct I was surprised at the simplistic functionality offered withthe DHCP server. Can I suggest you consider offering the follow options, which seem pretty basic to me: Allow domain name for LAN to be set and also to be displayed on the web interface Allow DHCP options such as DNS servers and Time servers to be set for DHCP clients Allow lease period to be controlled

Hello to anyone taking the time to read this.
I have close to a dozen netgear GS1xxE switches at my home and various family member's homes by now and swear by the things. Vlan tagging is a must for our various setups and these switches haven't disapointed yet.
However , when it comes to configuring them, the fact one is incapable of selecting the vlan on which the things do their DHCP negotiating forces me to use fixed IP's.
In essence this isn't all that bad. But adding this to the firmware isn't something unreasonable to ask I would think.
