What kind of a device (model) is this, what firmware is in place?

Have you tried to add this serial number (as per the product tag added an unmanaged  GS605(v?)) to the your account using the Insight App (or the Insight Web UI)?

Suspect the Insight App is - different from what is shown on the 5-Port and 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Switch Model GS605v5 and GS608v4 Installation Guide - currenlty not able to register non-Insight-manageable devices to your Netgear Account.

 

Head to https://my.netgear.com/ -> My Account -> Register a Product

 

@YeZ an issue to look into for the Insight App and Cloud team please. Both the App and the Insight Web UI should allow the product registration for non-Insight-manageable devices (again).

@LorraineR_143 please let the Netgear know in case the serial number does belong to a diferent Remote Managed Switch model (and not an unmanaged GS605).

For compatible devices, you can use the regular Insight "Add Device" option. 

For incompatible devices like the GS605, you can only register the serial number with NETGEAR Support to enable the support entitlement, to do that, go to the Account > Register Any NETGEAR Device" in the Cloud Portal, or find that option in the hamburger menu on the Insight mobile apps.

All right - there is yet another hidden menu item named "Register any Netgear device" in the Insight App main menu, too:
