I don’t post too often but just recently bought some new hardware that is not playing well sssooo. Reviewing forum post did not readily find a similar instance. Here are the problems right up front. 1) Losing access to switch and network connections when 2 VLANS are the connected to 2nd set of VLANS on 2nd switch. 2) During troubleshooting the prior issue, made all GS724TP ports part of PVID 4 and 5 thus removing from PVID1. Now no web access since PVID1 was mgmt PVID (at least I believe this to be the cause)
Presently have router FVS318v3 feeding a switch GS748T v4 then connection via fiber to switch GS724TP in another building. Vlans are arrange for 748T ports VLAN 1 (corp VLAN PVID1) and VLAN2 1 (wifi PVID5) with 1 router port common to both. The 724TP has similar vlan sets using separate fiber to connect between the two. No Trunking, no LAG, no SPT, no Multicast, etc. most other settings are default.
Configuration: Router FVS318v3 1 port member of both VLANs, single port being used.
GS748T: Vlan4 PVID1 corporate vlan untagged port members except for VLAN5 members GBIC AGM731F on port 50 (goes to 724TP port 23 GBIC)
VLAN5 PVID5 Free WiFi untagged port members 1-8 and port 49 GBIC AGM731F on port 49 (goes to 724TP port 24 GBIC)
GS724TP Vlan4 PVID4 corporate vlan untagged port members except for VLAN5 GBIC AGM731F on port 23
VLAN5 PVID5 Free WiFi untagged port members 1-8 and port 24 GBIC AGM731F on port 24

With the above configuration plugging in 1 fiber at a time, works fine. When both are plugged in, all network lights begin flashing @ same rate (2X per second) and all network connectivity is lost. Removing one fiber stops the fast flashing, normal flashing comes back and network connectivity is restored.
A) How can 2 VLANs be replicated using the GS724TP switch in the other building? B) How can control be re-established with the GS724TP without reset to factory defaults? Although switch is working; cannot ping, cannot see in Smart Control Center, does not show up in 748T mac address table.
Sounds like a loop is in there somewhere. Having routers or switches plugged into each other twice causes routing loops meaning all the lights start flashing and network connectivity is lost. I agree with Adit, need a diagram

Gs748t is one switch and GS724tp 2nd switch; connected with 2 fiber GBICs.
