Hello community,
We have GS724Tv4 and GS724TPv2 switches across our site. Sometimes when we attempt to apply changes we receive the message "Failed to save configuration to flash!"
Is this a known issue because I am seeing on it multiple switches with different configurations? Is there a firmware to resolve it?
We are using version:
Boot Version | Software Version | |
B1.0.0.2 | 1.1.1.25 |
Thanks for the help!
Ash

Several firmware upgrades since - note the conersion from does not allow to forward the existing config, so plan time for documentation first.
Note: You can find all documentations and downloads for the NEtgear devics starting from https://www.netgear.com/support/
For the GS724TPv2 update you need the last 1.1.50.39, https://kb.netgear.com/000061511 and then an intermediate 2.0.0.16.img and then 2.0.0.16 https://kb.netgear.com/000061525/GS724TPv2-GS724TPP-Firmware-Version-2-0-0-16?article=000061525 from there you should be able to update to the current https://kb.netgear.com/000064440/GS724TPv2-GS724TPP-Firmware-Version-2-0-7-4?article=000064440
On the GS724TPv2 download page https://www.netgear.com/support/product/GS724TPv2.aspx#download - click "View Previous Versions" - you find all firmware and most relaese notes.
GS724TPv2
- Existing configurations will be erased after upgrading the firmware from v1.1.1.x to v2.0.0.x. Furthermore, configuration files are not compatible between v1.x.x.x and v2.x.x.x firmware.
- To upgrade the firmware to v2.0.0.16 from v1.1.x.x, you must follow the following order:V1.1.1.x.rom => V1.1.50.39.rom => V2.0.0.16.img => V2.0.0.16.bix.
Keeping the GS724Tv4 to a curent firmware should be easier, but also review all firmware steps (including the release notes "View Previous Versions") -> https://www.netgear.com/support/product/GS724Tv4.aspx#download
