GS108tv2 "file transfer timeout" when trying to upgrade FW from SCC

I am trying to upgrade FW from to 5.4.2.22 from 5.4.2.11 on a GS108Tv2 with SCC.

I am getting "file trnasfer timeout" in the SCC log.

How can I fix this?

Hi ohos,

Kindly answer the questions below:

a. Are you using the latest version of the Smart Control Center utility which is v1.1.3.2?  If not, kindly download the latest version here.

b. I believe the GS108Tv2 can be managed via its web-GUI.  Have you tried to access its web-GUI then tried to upgrade the FW using the web-GUI?

a.) yes

b.) The web UI is not very clear. I believe it is only possible to uplaod FW from an IP address not a local file path

Hello ohos, 

Try reinstalling the latest version of the SCC, once done reboot your PC and do the update again. I have seen something like this happened before, see this old thread.

I did not get it to work inspite of uninstall/install. However, I got it to work from a secondd PC.

I suspect SCC encounters an issue on my dual NIC PC.

I had the same problem with my GS108E and found I had to disable Windows firewall when doing the update.
