GS516TP Inter VLAN access
I have a GS516TP Pro-Switch and the hardware below:
ISP Huawai Router LAN IP 10.0.0.1/24 DHCP 10.0.0.2/170
| |||
GS516TP LAN IP 10.0.0.111 Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 | |||
VLAN 1 Default Untagged Ports 2,3,5,7,8,9,10 LAG 2&7
| VLAN 10 Home_Users LAN IP 10.0.1.2 255.255.255.0 Untagged Ports 9,11,13
| VLAN 20 Multi_Media LAN IP 10.0.2.2 255.255.255.0 Untagged Ports 10,12,14,16 | VLAN 30 Security LAN IP 10.0.3.2 255.255.255.0 Untagged Ports 1,2,4,6,8 |
| Router ASUS RT-ACRH17 DHCP 10.0.1.3/200 LAN IP 10.0.1.1/24 WAN 10.0.0.251 Gateway 10.0.0.1 WIFI: ENxxx ch5 WIFI ENxxx5G ch149
| Router GLi-NET 300M DHCP 10.0.2.3/200 LAN IP 10.0.2.1/24 WAN 10.0.0.252 Gateway 10.0.0.1 WIFI: MMxxx ch1
| Router TP-Link TD-W8980 DHCP 10.0.3.100/250 LAN IP 10.0.3.1 WAN IP 10.0.0.253 Gateway 10.0.0.1 WIFI: SSxxx ch10 |
On the switch I have ports 2 and 7 as LAG into the Huawai ISP router. Ports 3 and 5 are connected to Vonage IP phones. Ports 8, 9 and 10 are connected to each of the routers WAN port.
For each of the routers I have one LAN port connected to the appropriate VLAN. For example I have 1 LAN port from the TP-Link connected to port 6 in the switch as part of VLAN30. This is my first managed switch set up and I am not sure if this is the best way, but it seems to work. All the VLANs should have internet access
My problem is that I would like to access all the devices in VLAN 20 and VLAN30 from VLAN10. For example if I am logged in in my WIFI ENxxx network. I would like to access the AppleTV on VLAN 20 or the Security devices on VLAN 30 without switching WIFI networks.
Any suggestions are welcome.

Re: GS516TP Inter VLAN access
Hi Al05,
Welcome to our community! 🙂
GS516TP only supports L2 routing and it isn't what we call a managed switch. You may need to configure static routes on your router in order for you to communicate those VLANs as they are working on different router setup or better yet replace the switch with a fully managed switch. How do I configure VLAN Routing on a smart switch? You may still try to test if this will work on your setup.
Here is the list of fully managed switches.
