GS752TS 60m fibre Stacking

Hi,

I have 3 x GS752TS switches which have been stacked in one rack. We have now reconfigured our network cabling and have now moved two of the switches in another rack 60m away. We have a brand new fibre link that has been installed between the racks however we cannot get the stack back together using the SFP ports.

Is there a configuration setting we should be changing due to the added distance and can they by stacked at this distance?

Our fibre link consists of the following,

  • GLC-SX-MM-C SFP MODULE's
  • OM3 LC/LC 1M DUPLEX PATCH LEAD's
  • 6 CORE OM3 LC INDOOR/OUTDOOR PRE TERMINATED CABLE 60M

Thank you

Re: GS752TS 60m fibre Stacking

Hi @owen3408,

Our fibre link consists of the following,

  • GLC-SX-MM-C SFP MODULE's
  • OM3 LC/LC 1M DUPLEX PATCH LEAD's
  • 6 CORE OM3 LC INDOOR/OUTDOOR PRE TERMINATED CABLE 60M

Are the following above were also being used when the GS752TS stack was working before?  We recommend to use the supported NETGEAR modules for the GS752TS switch which are either AGM731F or AGM732F.  To know more about the specification of both AGM731F and AGM732F, kindly access this link

Kindly double-check if the SFP ports are configured as Stacking ports.  You want to reconfigure the settings from scratch.  Kindly read pages 66-67 of the GS752TS Software Administration Manual here.

Re: GS752TS 60m fibre Stacking

Hi @DaneA

Thank you for your reply

Before the reconfiguration the stack was linked with AGC761's.

The GLC-SX-MM-C's and the OM3 fibre patch leads work fine when testing them locally between switches and the stack functions correctly. Its when the 60m distance is added the switches are not detecting the link and obviously do not stack.

We will check the SFP port configuration today and update you with our progress

Thanks,

Owen
