JGS524Ev2 Password reset assistance

I've misplaced the password for my swtich and need to reset it.  When I load the configuration utility I'm not able to factory reset it as it requires the password to do so.

 

Is there a physical way or process to follow to reset the switch without the utility?

Welcome to the community! 🙂 

 

I believe there is a factory reset hole wherein you need to use a paper clip to press the reset button inside it for about 30 seconds.  Have you already tried that?

So I've tried thesde steps;

 

1 - pin reset to over 30 secs with power on, no result

2 - pull power out, hold reset button in, plug in power wait 10 secs

 

any other tips?

Please try this:

 

How do I log into the switch if I lost my password?

From the configuration utility, select the switch and use the serial number (printed on the bottom product label of the switch) as the password. Once logged into the switch, reset the password.

I've tried this also ... the serial number is not accepted as the password.

SW     2.0.0.31 (although may have updated firmware since factory)

MAC  .....

Hi scottbeattie,

 

Here are my follow-up questions:

 

a. Are you using the latest ProSAFE Plus Configuration Utility v2.3.5? If not yet, you may download it here

b. Have you tried using other PC/s or laptop/s to isolate the problem?

 

Try these steps below:

 
a. Disconnect the JGS524E switch from your existing network.
b. Connect the PC where you installed the latest ProSAFE Plus Configuration Utility v2.3.5 directly to a LAN port of the JGS524E.
c. Kindly try to disable any software firewall or anti-virus installed in your PC.  
d. Open the ProSAFE Plus Configuration Utility then check if it detects the JGS524E.  Check also if you are able to login using the default password which is "password" without the quotation marks.
