LAN to WAN Configuration

Good evening, i would like to request advices for the following problem:

one of my customer employee destroys internet bandwidth for all other workstations on a medium local lan with large uploads

the WAN link is DSL 1000kbps/18000 kbps

i suspect all

i can't access the router, nor the workstations, i can only work at the switch level.

So my question is, would a S3300 or M4300 52x help me limit lan to wan upload per ports (for exemple limit at 256 kps) and maybe monitor with wireshark with port mirroring?

thanks alot for your advices

Re: LAN to WAN Configuration

Hello Imer,

Welcome to the community!

You should be able to do this on switches with rate limiting (S3300 egress only), both of the models you have mentioned support this. Here's an example on one of our standalone smart switch. Click here. As an alternative, you can also use QoS and give it a low priority so it won't hog out the bandwidth.

Thanks,
