Thank you for your quick response.  So am I reading this letter correctly in that there is a USB drive in the box with the switch that contains the firmware image for upgrade or configuration file for backup?  Thank you for the clarification.

No,.

 

The CoV does state the USB storage which can be attached externally would be user provided. It is not a part of the product, it's not required to operate the switch, but there can be a user provided USB storage device attached. Purpose is firmware installation, config backup, and possibly retrieving debug and troubleshooting information. 

 

In other words: There is no need to open the box and remove/erase an internal USB storage.
