M4100-50G FTP
Hello
I have M4100-50G switch that is a replacement for an old model. I have been doing a FTP going through port 48. For some reason I've noticed on this new model of switch i'm not able too, however if I moved my RJ45 over to port 46, the file transfers as expected. On the front of this switch port 48 appears to be part of what is called Combo Ports. I think the error message is connection refused.
Any ideas?

Re: M4100-50G FTP
Hi @GearHeadJ,
Welcome to the community! 🙂
I found out that you have already contact NETGEAR Support with regard to your concern (case # 41141010).
Combo ports cannot be used at the same time. When either of the ports are enabled, the other port is automatically disabled. It means that you can either have a cable plugged into the copper 10/100/1000 interface, or the cable plugged into the SFP slot. If you have both plugged into the Combo ports, only one will work.
Kindly answer the questions below:
a. Are you transferring files between 2 devices that are both connected to the M4100-50G switch?
b. Are there VLANs configured on the M4100-50G switch? If yes, to what VLAN does ports 46 and 48T belong?
c. What is the specific device is connected to the 48T port?
d. Since there is a device connected to 48T port, is there also a device connected to 48F port? If yes, what specific device is it?
e. What is the current firmware version of the M4100-50G switch?

DaneA

Re: M4100-50G FTP
Hi DaneA
I do not have anything plugged into the 47f,48f,49f,50f ports Just the 48T port
The file transfer is done by using FileZilla in a Win7 PC that goes to port 48. The embedded device is plugged in another port on the switch.
There are no VLANs configured on this system. The SW is 10.0.2.20

Re: M4100-50G FTP
Hi @GearHeadJ,
I apologize for the late response. Based from your feedback, I believe it should work. Let us try this, kindly upgrade the firmware of the M4100-50G from v10.0.2.20 to v10.0.2.26 and check if the same problem will occur.
You can download firmware v10.0.2.26 here.

DaneA
