M4100 vlan/routing help

Hi Netgear network experts,
I am looking for some help with configuring a M4100-D12G. I've figured out how to configure vlans but I can't figure out how to get the traffic to route to my internet connection. Here's my setup.

1) This is the Internet connection I currently plug my PCs into. Internet <-> cable modem <-> Netgear r7200. The r7200 is configured to provide DHCP in the range of 10.0.0.100 - 10.0.0.200 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0. I'd like to keep this part of the setup unchanged if possible.

2) I have a M4100-D12G that is configured for vlan10 (port 2 and port 3) and vlan 20 (port 4 and port 5). I also want vlan10 and vlan20 to provide DHCP 192.168.10.x (for vlan10) and 192.168.20.x (for vlan20). No IP or DHCP or routing has been configured for these vlans and I think this is where I need help.

3) I want to connect the r7200 to port 6 (M4100-D12G) and provide Internet access to vlan10 and vlan20. I don't want a PC on vlan10 to talk to a PC on vlan20.

My questions are as follows:
a) Are there any negative issues with this setup that I should be aware of?

b) Can someone please help me complete this configuration with as much detail as possible. My guess is that i have to setup vlan30 and associate with port 6, with an IP, but no DHCP (since the r7200 is providing DHCP). Do I then set the default route for vlan10 and vlan20 to vlan30? If this is the answer, can someone please provide some guidance on how to configure some of the above.

Thanks!

Re: M4100 vlan/routing help

@DaneAI made some config changes based on the info you shared.  My config is attached.  Here's some info regarding the config.

vlan10 - for PC in port 2, 3 or 4

vlan20 - for PC in port 5, 6 or 7

vlan200 - where netgear r7200 is connected in port 8, 9 or 10

IP address for netgear r7200 is 192.168.200.1.  If i attach a PC to port 8, 9 or 10 and set the PC IP to 192.168.200.200 with gw 192.168.200.1, i can reach the internet.

If i attach a PC to port 2, 3 or 4 (vlan10) and set IP to 192.168.10.10 with gw 192.168.10.254, i can ping 192.168.200.254.  However, i cannot ping 192.168.200.1 and cannot reach the internet.

BTW, i tried to attach a txt file but it won't let me so i am attaching the config as a pdf file.

Could you please review this and see what's missing?

Have you created a static route for VLAN 10 on the router?
Have you created a default route?

Kindly post a diagram of your current network setup (it should be a detailed diagram and not just in words).

Re: M4100 vlan/routing help

@DaneA  I deleted all the configs and started from new.  I created the configuration similar to that described in the links you provided.  I created the switch configuration with the Netgear M4100-D12G.  I created the router configuration using the Netgear r7200.  I am still not able to get a PC on one of the vlans to connect to the Internet.

So, I did some troubleshooting and replaced the Netgear r7200 with a different router (different manufacturer) and now the PC is able to connect to the Internet.  So, I know the issue is in the Netgear r7200 router configuration (and the M4100 is configured correctly).  I know this is not the Netgear r7200 community but if you know of anything to check on the Netgear r7200, please let me know.  Otherwise, I can post this question to the Netgear r7200 community.

Thanks for any help you are able to offer.
