M4300 firmware update 12.0.7.15 WAC720 unusable

Hi,

i update one of my 4300 switches. On that switch there are 2 wireless access points (WAC-720) connected.

The access points are connected to a controller WC7600.

after the update the 2 AP's are unusable. On the AP's the power led's are blinking red and devices cannot connect.

I have to update other m4300 switches where there also AP's connected and do not want there are all unusable.

regards

Frank

Re: M4300 firmware update 12.0.7.15 WAC720 unusable

@knarfer,

Is the M4300 switch the DHCP server for the 2 WAC720?  If yes, kindly configure the DHCP server on the M4300 switch for the 2 WAC720 and check if the same problem will occur.

Check page 93-97 of the M4300 user manual here on how to configure DHCP Server Settings.

Re: M4300 firmware update 12.0.7.15 WAC720 unusable

@knarfer,

Are the 2 WAC720 still in the managed list of the WC7600?  If not, run the discovery wizard on the WC7600 to find and the access points back to the managed list.  Kindly read page 155 of the WC7600 user manual here about Discover & Manage Access Points.

Re: M4300 firmware update 12.0.7.15 WAC720 unusable

the problem is not to discover or connect the devices. My concern is that when i update my other switches that i have the same problem.

all the switches are in production. is there a known problem with this update or can we track the logs on the wac720 to see whats the problem with this update so we can prevent this problem on the other switches?

@knarfer,

I understand.  However, since the WAC720 access points are being managed by the WC7600, we need to double check that the WAC720 access points are still within the managed list of the WC7600.

As far as I have checked, there is no issue logged as per described in your initial post.  For the logs to be checked, I suggest you to open a support ticket with NETGEAR Support here at anytime.
