Replacement for JFS524F switch with SFP module for Fiber

Hi folks,
Have a small network spanning 2 buildings connected via fiber. Each end has a JFS524F switch with AF711F fiber SFP module. I am seeing packet drops at the remote end.
1. How do I troubleshoot this? I have powercycled both switches and problem continues.
2. One option is to replace both ends with Gigabit switches supporting fiber module. Netgear site says JGS524F, but that may be obsolete. What is the least expensive way to replace this functionality? I believe the fiber module that I want is the AGM731F

Hello shrikant_c,
Welcome to the community!
I suggest checking the firmware version on both ends. Are you using a software monitoring tool to see where the packet drops? If you can't find the JGS524 anymore, I suggest looking at the standalone smart switch series.
Thanks,

Re: Replacement for JFS524F switch with SFP module for Fiber
Thanks to everyone who responded. We ended up replacing with two tripplite fiber to ethernet media converters and because these Netgear's were old and 100 Mbps only, replaced them with regular Gigabit switches.
