Rollback Firmware - M5300-28GF3

Hi,

I have a couple of switches stacked and updaed the firmware on the M5300-28GF3 but cannot upgrade the formware on the GSM7328Sv2 as it won't go to v11.

My GSM7328Svs is on 10.0.0.53 and my M5300-28GF3 is on 11.0.0.31

I did try try a rollback previously but it bricked my switch.

Whats the safe way to rollback to 10.0.0.53 and can it be done safely?

In the release notes it says

'While 10.0.0 supports both M5300 and older GSM73xxSv1h2 such that the two series can stack together, the new 11.0.0 does not support mixed stacking of these two, only M5300 model.'

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Rollback Firmware - M5300-28GF3

Hi simcc73,

Unfortunately, we cannot downgrade or roll it back to the previous firmware version as it is already on a different boot version. We really need to check the release notes first before doing a firmware upgrade so that we may know the limitations that may occur.

Welcome to our community! 🙂

Re: Rollback Firmware - M5300-28GF3

@simcc73,

That's great! You cleared it out that we can still downgrade the firmware version even if it is already on v11.x.x.x to v10.x.x.x. What happened to the switch that became bricked right after you downgrade?
