Playlist vs Album

Hi

I know that a Playlist can be shared among other Users and an Album can be linked into the Phone and then Syncronized.

Is there any other difference?

I don't really get why it has been split into two different kind of Concepts when they both do more or less the same.

Both features (sharing / sincying) could have been implemented just in Playlist as well.
