Aircard 785 connection problems on iPad and MacBook Air
I have an Aircard 785 which was working perfectly with my iPad and MacBook Air. After being away and not using the 785 for one month it does not work as it did previously despite not making any changes to settings.
Whilst the 785 shows connection to IP with full signal, both devices will only operate for a few minutes (1-5) and then freeze up even though the devices as showing full signal too. The only way to get connection back is to restart the 785 which after 5+ times an hour becomes rather frustrating.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Just a further note ... I have tried the SIM just in the iPad and it works perfectly!

Re: Aircard 785 connection problems on iPad and MacBook Air
I tried to do a software update as I got a "System Alert" but when I tried to download it said " Update Error" and went back to home page! Maybe it is a software issue?? Perhaps I should speak directly to Netgear support?

Hello JeanetteSeymour
Try telling the devices to forget the network and connect again also you may want to try and adjust the wireless channel on modem.

Re: Aircard 785 connection problems on iPad and MacBook Air
Hi DarrenM,
Thank you for your suggestions ... I will definitely try the "forget the network". Please advise what you mean by adjusting the wireless channel. Under Wifi Profiles I can see Channels 1-13 and auto. It is currently on auto and I am reticent to change ... is there what you mean?
Await your comment.

Hello Jeanette
yes that is what I am talking about try changing it to any channel instead of auto you may have to try it a couple times to find the best channel to get better and more consistant signal.

Re: Aircard 785 connection problems on iPad and MacBook Air
I have a Netgear 785s and have issues that only seems to manifest under certain conditions.
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)
I used 'nettop tcp -d' on the mac to monitor connections.
All Connection are 802.11N
Netgear + Macbook Pro on built in WiFi - major latency.
Netgear + Macbook Pro USB - No issues
Netgear + Airport Express -- Ethernet on Macbook - No issues
Netgear + PC (Win 7) WiFi (TP-Link TL-WN721N) - No issues.
Netgear + PC (Win 7) USB - No Issues
I also have a ZTE MF60 that connects to the WiFI on the Macbook (802.11g )with no issues.
The issue seems to be with the connection between the AirPort Extreme and the Netgear 785s radios.

Moriwi ... you say "major latency" on the MacBook Pro on built in wifi. Do you mean "latent faults"?

Re: Aircard 785 connection problems on iPad and MacBook Air
Sorry cannot be of assistance ... I did not find a resolution to my problems and ended buying the AC810S which had some other issues. It was easier to use with the touch screen but was not much better than the AC785!
