Happened on both and I did the factory reset. Managed to log in to ISP but wifi was disabled and returned to that state no matter which of dual or single band was selected. Took it to my ISP store where after much headscratching they agreed it was s***, gave me a loaner unit and sent it for repair. One day later ISP advised a new replacement had been despatched.

Re: MR2100 stalls at first dot on reboot or restart
Not enough information to go on.
Visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
Look for the model number on the label on the device.
Begin with the Quick Start/Installation Guide.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
You have posted your message in the section of this community given over to Nighthawk WiFi Routers. (This is easily done, given Netgear's impenetrable community structure.)
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers about your hardware, in the appropriate section for your device. That's probably here:
Mobile Routers, Hotspots & Modems
I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

Re: MR2100 stalls at first dot on reboot or restart
Hi @FatherBear ,
Is this on every reboot or cold boot? If so, have you tried a factory reset via the reset hole behind the battery cover?
Regards,
