NETGEAR Nighthawk M2 Input Power

Good afternoon all and Happy Friday!

I have recently purchased a few Nighthawk M2 routers and had a question regarding power. I would like to continuously power the device but using a 12V output battery, would this cause an issue with the device as from what I understand it prefers 5V or 9V quick charge?

Gold standard is the device can directly take 12v otherwise I can put a split in the cable and use a converter.
