Nighthawk M2 Screen won't turn on.

I have i Nighthawk M2 that seems to be working fine but the screen won't turn.

I normally just check the screen to see how much data we have left for the month but it no longer displays the screen.

Blue light and the internet is working, so i guess im just checking if anyone else has had this issue.

I have the same issue. It actually takes a long time to get a response. Sometimes i am just so annoyed and i simply remove the battery and restart it again. But i guess it hurts the device. Anyone know how to fix it?

May we please know the device SKU (e.g. MR2100-xxxx)? This can be checked on the box of the product or on the barcode label. 

What is the firmware version? 

 

Kindly access router settings page, select Settings > Advanced Settings > Device and provide the following: 

- Screen Brightness: 

- Screen Lock (is it On or Off)

- Time Out (number of minutes)

- Set WiFi Info on Home (On or Off)

Yes, have the same problem.
Modem works but screen doesn't work.
Anyone have a solution?

I have the same problem. Unit working but can’t get screen to wake up. Anyone have a fix for this?

I have the same issue. Screen won't display (although it doesn't always do this). Still connected to the internet. Blue light flashing. The only way to get the screen to display is to take out the battery.

Has this been resolved?

We are currently looking into the issue. We would like to clarify which of the cases you have: 

 

[1] Is the LCD completely black even after rebooting? If so, this is most likely a connection issue. 

[2] The LCD is black and won’t respond to power button or "wake up" after running device for a long time. Then reboot will show “NETGEAR” logo and the LCD UI operates again. 

 

If it is the second condition, please provide the following information: 

- How long you've left the device on?

- How many clients are connected? What type of load you're putting the M2 through?

- We sent you a private message as well for additional information - FSN and IMEI number.

I'm also experiencing the same thing - the modem has been on continuously for over 2 months, and now the screen is black and doesn't re-appear on pressing the power button (which is blinking blue) or the home button. However it is working perfectly as a modem. I have not yet taken the battery out because, well, it is working, so why risk losing my internet Also, my admin options do not include a "screen off" function, only a brightness control.

 

Has a solution been provided by Netgear?

Hi there,

 

I'm having this same issue and it's really annoying! Are these units not supposed to be left on all the time? Mine is and I'm having to reboot it more and more.

Firmware version NTGX24_10.17.10.00

SKU MR2100-1TLAUS

ISP Telstra

We bought this unit in September 2020 so didn't anticipate it playing up this soon so any help would be appreciated.

In reply to those who have asked what was the resolution (latest being @HawkPhil), in my case the screen re-appeared on re-booting (taking the battery out and putting it back in),  It hasn't happened again.

 

(I was reluctant at first to remove the battery because the unit can spend a long time searching for a signal (via a Yagi antenna) in my marginal reception area. And despite some advice against it, I keep the battery in there so the connection survives fairly common power interruptions we experience in a forested rural area. The software (usually) automatically maintains the battery at about 65% charge while on power.)
