Bitdefender software on Mac
I've activated NetGear Armor on my RBK53 system, and have installed the assocaited Bitdefender softare on my iMac-5K.
Do I have to do this on every machine on my network?
I was already using Bitdefender prior to this, and I was wondering if there is really any difference between the stand-alone Bitdefender and that distributed with the Armor membership.
I assume that Armor is now screening outbound ports and connections to malware command and control servers, and is hopefully monitoring inbound traffic for known buffer overflow attacks (I may be overly optimistic), but has the basic Bitdefender software been modified in any way to cooperate and coordinate with whatever has been activated on the RBR50?
Curious minds want to know ...
Thanks in advance for any and all information.

Re: Bitdefender software on Mac
When I activated Netgear Armor, it offered me a 90 day free trial.
After installing the Bitdefender software, it told me that this version of the software would expire after 30 days (60 days short of the trial expiration).
Ironically, I already have a Bitdefender family plan which doesn't expire until October.
Installing the Netgear version of the software deleted the Bitdefender I already had installed. How do I bridge the 60 days that the Netgear software will leave my Macs and PCs unprotected?
If I sign up for Netgear Armor - pay the annual fee - will I still get the free three months?
Not a big deal - just trying to see what my options are.
Also, soon after I installed Netgear Armor my Synology disk station reported that 192.168.1.1 (my RBR50) had been blocked after 10 attempts to connect to the FTP port on the Synology. Was that Armor cleverly trying to probe for FTP vulnerabilities on the Synology, or something more sinister?

Re: Bitdefender software on Mac
Hi @varase,
Your Armor subscription/trial period between your devices should be synced up. Please make sure that you used the same login credentials when you initially activated Armor. Your paid subscription will not begin until you use your paid activation code. That means you can use the paid activation code close to the end of your trial since that will not expire. As for how Armor behaves in the network, Bitdefender support will be able to provide a more detailed explanation for that. You can contact them on the link below.

Re: Bitdefender software on Mac
Well, the Bitdefender software was clearly stating that I had only 14 days left on my trial so once I determined that the probes to my Synology's FTP port from the RBR50 were purposeful probes by Armor (and not that Armor had somehow opened a back door to my LAN), I paid for the subscription.
