I don’t know where else to post this as it’s a problem with Netgear VPN.
There will be errers below, sorry but I am dislexic.
I have contacted Bitdefender and Netgear support both are totally useless, Bitdefender say go to Netgear (well I suppose it is them I paid). Netgear just sent a lengthy set of instructions on updating hardware firmware!
The problem is I have a nearly new Dell XPS 14 9440. About a week ago I started to get reports every time the laptop was started [rebooted, hibernation or sleep] of UnifiedSDK.Service.exe crashing I have uninstalled the product and reinstalled and that has made no difference. An example of the windows error below.
Faulting application name: UnifiedSDK.Service.exe, version: 2.12.1.256, time stamp: 0x656f6b0f
Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 10.0.22621.3958, time stamp: 0xfbc3a4f6
Exception code: 0xe0434352
Fault offset: 0x000000000005fabc
Faulting process id: 0x0x1B40
Faulting application start time: 0x0x1DAED508658132F
Faulting application path: C:\\\\Program Files\\\\Bitdefender\\\\Bitdefender VPN\\\\UnifiedSDK.Service\\\\UnifiedSDK.Service.exe
Faulting module path: C:\\\\Windows\\\\System32\\\\KERNELBASE.dll
Report Id: 0259f9b9-c5d4-4ec1-a935-2ce20ef14a64
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:
This is a known Bitdefender bug in older versions of the program.
This is a known bug and well covered in Bitdefender forums
https://community.bitdefender.com/en/discussion/98618/unifiedsdk-service-exe-crash
The problem is the solution is, in July this year, a version of Bitdefender VPN over 2 full versions higher than the current Netgear VPN is. Clearly I can’t just install the Bitdefender version but need a Netgear one and that not looking good as it looks like they have in the last 2/3 weeks released a known bugged update of a Bitdefender VPN version that took a good 2 full versions to be sorted.
If Bitdefender forums are anything to go by many Netgear customers must also be having this bug affect them.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Re: Bitdefender vpn unifiedSDK.service.exe error in windows reliability monitor
I get the feeling that Netgear support work on bases that if you lose the will to live due to there refusing to deal with the actual problem the case will be solved. Or better they can solve the invented problem.
I am told now that the case summery is "Armor. Started to get reports every time the laptop was started [rebooted, hibernation or sleep] of UnifiedSDK.Service.exe for Dell XPS 14. First class for imagination and step up on pretending it was a router hardware issue last time.
I look back at what I originally sent and replied to the last useless reply from them and am amazed how Armor has now been added to this! In the past I had a presales query and was given a reply that was nothing to do with what I asked, nothing changes.
