How to Portforward Broadcast Address on Netgear?
I want to remotely send a Wake-On-LAN (WOL) packet on UDP port 9 to my router at home to turn on my computer. I can easily send a WOL packet on my local network, but it is a bit troublesome when I try to do this over the Internet. My end goal is to remotely turn on my PC so I can then remotely control it (with TeamViewer) from wherever I may be. My problem is that I need to portforward a broadcast address on my Netgear WNDR3800 router, and this is disabled on most commercial routers for DoS prevention. How can I bypass this restriction without installing any third-party firmware? Or is there another way to approach sending these WOL packets altogether?
