NETGEAR Armor on Orbi RBK 852
Since I have been the victim of identity theft before, I decide to sign up for NETGEAR Armor, when I installed my mesh system. Lately I have received the following security warning from Armor:
“Netgear Armor has detected and blocked a suspicious connection from ZTE V9 smart bulbs. I attached screenshots of the security warning.
It is okay that Armor blocked a phishing connection, but what I don’t understand is how smart bulbs could be used for fishing, or what could be achieved if that is actually possible.
Is this a legit danger, or could that be some bug in the NETGEAR Armor software? I guess I just don’t understand this, and would like to know for what purpose smart lights would try to connect to a phishing/malware website???
Any suggestions, and should I be worried that another one of my smart devices might manage to actually slip through the cracks and connect to such a site?

Re: NETGEAR Armor on Orbi RBK 852
It might be worth logging into the armor web site at armor.netgear.com and looking for ways to either:
Add the lights, if seen there, to the list of "not blocked" URLs
Exempting the Light devices from Armor management.
If lights are valid for you, can avoid or disregard the message about them. Many odd manufacturers for lights these days. No idea what they put in them. 🙄
