Insight App doesn't work in Israel

Hi,

how come the Insight App doesn't work in Israel after the maintenance?

we are working on the App for some time, yesterday the App had some maintenance and this morning opppss we cant use the App any more." account needs attention" and the Country not supported.

NETGEAR!!!! you understand that we cant use  All the AP's that support cloud and all the switches that support cloud.?

Many Israeli integrators/customer using the App but know they cant.

Please let us understand what we should do?!

Thanks for the Help

@Juniortabbak

We are reaching out to see what can be done.

Thanks for your patience.

Insight products that cannot connect the management cloud can still fall back into direct management mode in the meantime.

Re: Insight App doesn't work in Israel

Thanks for the reply,

direct management is the same as every switch and AP.

GC110P & GS110TP  are way different in price, so paid double and get the same cant see any reason to do that.

The Cloud gave an option to manage multiple products like NAS, Switch, AP from the same platform without Static IP from the ISP.

know all the people that are using these platform cant use it any more!.

We need an immediate solution, if not all the units that sold need to go back to NETGEAR.

Regards,

Junior

Unfortunatley, at least of Insight GC switches and WAC/AP, a factory reset is required to regain the local management access. Not very nice for most users.

Re: Insight App doesn't work in Israel

Hi Junior,

Thanks for your post. We're working on a solution to help your situation. Unfortunately due to the limitations of our payment platform, we're not able to cover all countries in the first release of Insight subscriptions. Please expect to hear more on this. We appreciate your continued  interest in Insight.

Thank you.

Re: Insight App doesn't work in Israel

Dear Shaheen,

As the Insight app was available in countries currently not covered by the payment provider for the additional services, it would be smart to keep them to allow using the default feature set at least - instead of locking them out, as it happened to our Israeli friends. Similar problem with the **** VAT "check" implemented on the payment portal (as discussed in private).

Of course, the new licensing model introduced with Insight 4 might hit accounts managing more devices than covered. In a world of global payment providers, well, I don't like the overhead rip-off but PayPal would be an alternate solution almost everybody can use. Certainly better than unhappy and lost customers.

-Kurt

Re: Insight App doesn't work in Israel

Hi Kurt,

I agree that we should enable all users across all countries to purchase Insight subscriptions, and this is our goal. However, today we do not have the payments infrastructure to support all countries. We are working on expanding it, but will take time.

As you rightly point out we'll be providing another channel for purchase in future releases, including the Disti channel. Also we'll be introducing purchase via Apple and Google Pay, which again will help expand our coverage across different countries. We'll also consdier PayPal, so good suggestion.

For users in the interim, we're considering alternate approaches.

Thank you,

Shaheen
