Maintenance period to release NETGEAR Insight v5.0 - Some access points may show offline in Insight

Dear Insight Customer

As part of our continued commitment to improving your NETGEAR Insight experience, a maintenance period to release NETGEAR Insight v5.0 was scheduled between Monday, July 23, 2018, at 23:00:00 PDT and Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at 00:00:00 PDT .

After this scheduled maintenance, some of your access points might have stayed offline in Insight, but your network will continue to work as usual.

To restore the connection of the access points to the NETGEAR Insight cloud, you will have to reboot them. Please follow the steps below.

Reboot the access point by powering it off and on. If you cannot physically access the access point to reboot it (that is, disconnect the power and reconnect the power), you can use the local browser interface to reboot the access point.

To reboot the access point using the Web Interface:

  1. Open a web browser from a computer that is connected to the same network as the access point or to the access point directly through an Ethernet cable or WiFi connection.
  2. Enter the IP address that is assigned to the access point.
    A login window opens.
  3. Enter the access point user name and password.
The user name is admin. The password is the password of the network location in NETGEAR Insight that the device was added to.
    The Dashboard page displays.
  4. Select Management > Maintenance > Reset > Reboot AP.
    The Reboot AP page displays.
  5. Click the Reboot AP button.
    A pop-up warning window opens.
  6. Click the Reboot button.
The pop-up window closes and the access point reboots, which takes about one minute.

To reboot the access point using a PoE-enabled Insight switches:

  1. In Insight, navigate to the switch that is powering your access point(s).
  2. Select the PoE tab.
  3. Select Power Cycle Ports
  4. Check the box on the ports that you want to reboot, then click Start Power Cycle
PoE will be restarted on each port and your access point will reboot

We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we work to make the Insight experience better.

Sincerely,

The NETGEAR Insight Team
