Another "locked out of Netgear Circle" post

Greetings,

 

I have a Netgear Nighthawk router with Circle parental controls enabled but we are currently locked out of access it to update our content restrictions.  When I log into the Nighthawk app:

  • I select "Parental Controls"
  • It searches, then says "We Found Circle!"
  • I select "Manage Circle"
  • I enter Passcode
  • It says "Please check passcode and try again"
  • I select "I am the only circle Admin"
  • It then sends a text message to a phone number that is neither my nor my wife's number, thus we are locked out

I need help resetting this to regain access to manager our parental controls.

 

Browsing this forum, user "FURRYe38" keeps posting this article: Circle Pass Code Help and Information - NETGEAR Communities

But that's not a great solution, as it recommends creating a support ticket which does not seem possible, and mentions steps like:

 

If the issue verifying continues:

  1. Uninstall the Circle 1st generation App
  2. Disable Circle on NETGEAR from the router settings under >> Parental Controls after logging in
  3. Reboot the router

But the above steps don't really do anything, you're just uninstalling and re-installing the application.  Once it loads again, you still have the same situation where you are locked out of Circle.

 

Is there not just a way a Netgear representative can send a TOTP code or similar workaround to my email address, so that I can log back in and correct the phone number set in Circle (thus allowing me to administrate the service)?

Can submit a bug report thru the Orbi app:

Then clicking on "Get answers about NETGEAR products before I buy" then clicking on "Networking for Home" then "Chat with us".

 

All codes and support regarding these apps, come from NG so all that is beyond forum help.
