Can't block services on kids device
Hi there,
I've got an RBR350 device at home. Was looking to put in some basic controls and time schedule to restrict iphone access, but this doesn't seem to be apply.
What works
1. Going to access control
2. Locating the device
3. Blocking the device
*While interesting, not particularly useful.
What doesn't work.
1. Going to Block Services
2. Select "Always"
3. Create a new rule
4. Set service type to Any (includes both TCP and UDP)
5. Select "Filter Services for" to the device assigned IP address
*In theory, my understanding is that this should have a similiar effect as outright blocking the device (see What works section) earlier, but it doesnt. Youtube/Spotify/internet all works just fine.
*Interestingly enough, i can see this in the logs "[service blocked: Any] from source (devices ip address), Saturday, March 23, 2024 11:52:28"
Am i missing something?

Re: Can't block services on kids device
Services can't be really blocked. Only way to block the services would be to block the device entirely from the internet for the period of time there not supposed to be on it.
Might look at external DNS services that may help as well. Places like OpenDNS and NextDNS services could have what you need.
