...and it looks like the list hasn't been updated in quite a while. My concern is that when I enter the part numbers for these drives into Amazon, it seems as if they are no longer available. These drives are only available from third party entities that aren't entirely trustworthy. I'm concerned that these companies are simply flipping used HDDs as new.
I've tried to keep to the HCL to protect my data, but it seems like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Either limit my 2TB choices to those on the HCL, but worry about getting a used/defective drive from a less that reputable dealer. Or I buy drive that I can verify is new from the manufacturer, but isn't on the HCL.
I would go with e.g. the WD RED 2TB which is on the compatibility list for the NV+ (v1) which has very similar hardware to the NV. The NV+ (v1) is an evolutionary improvement over the NV.

Could you please go back and look at the HCL and verify the information you gave me? I took a look, and it seems like the Red is limited to 1TB and the Green/Black are the only 2TB options available.

I'd still go with the WD 2 TB Red. It works fine with the NV+ (I have one running in my duo v1, and have no issues). The drive will work, and losing support doesn't matter since you are out of warranty.
I wouldn't get the Greens, even though they are on the list.
