Adding extra disk drives to my RN104
Hi,
I have a RN104 with 2 x 4TB drives in bays 1 and 2. I added 2 x 8TB drives to bays 3 and 4 and honestly thought that I would have ended up with 2 volumes. (the 4TB original volume and a 8TB new volume) I could have sworn I saw this possibility somewhere a while ago, however when I installed the 2 new 8TB drives it automatically started reshaping the volume for raid 5 where it looks like I have a heap of unused space on the new disks.
Is there an option for what I want or should I have got the same sized drives?
Regards
Warwick

Re: Adding extra disk drives to my RN104
If using X-RAID once the resync completes it should then automatically expand to create a RAID-1 layer using the available space on the 8TB disks.
