Hi TimJ795,

I am just checking if the anti-virus on your NAS is now working. One of our L3 engineers remotely accessed your NAS and removed the files that are blocking the update.

Hi TimJ795,

Please try assigning static DNS addresses on the NAS (8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 )and see if that helps

You can also try disabling and re-enabling the Antivirus on the NAS.

If it is still the same and have ensured that the NAS has access to the Internet, you may download the NAS system logs then provide them to me so we can further check the issue. You may upload the logs to a cloud storage site (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc) then send the download link via private message.

Regards,

Hi

Just to make sure, at the moment my DNS servers are showing 172.16.0.254 (see image below), is that the IP address you what me to change to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4, and will the NAS need a reboot for the changes to take affect.

He wants you to delete the 172.16.0.254 DNS server, and add the other two (which are public DNS servers run by Google btw).

Leave the "Configure:" dropdown as "Using DHCP".

Although @JohnCM_S didn't suggest it, you might also want to disable ipv6 on the other tab.

You shouldn't need to reboot, but on the other hand it does no harm either.
