Re: Backup Error: (error: Cannot allocate memory)!
A few details on the nature of the backup job and the specific error message would help.

Re: Backup Error: (error: Cannot allocate memory)!
The original job:
Backup Job Name: BackupAll Backup Job Type: Incremental Protocol: local Backup Source: [volume:data]/ Backup Destination: [USB_HDD_1]/ Backup Start Time: Wed Oct 13 2021 3:16:59 PM Backup Finish Time: Wed Oct 13 2021 3:17:07 PM Backup Status: Fail: Cancelled by user.
The Error message in the log was that it could not copy file, then the long file name, then the "error:(cannot allocate memory)!"
(I erased the log when I deleted the job to try another method. My mistake. I am trying to recreate.)
I broke the job up to copy individual shares and it worked except for the share with the error message. That one said it was cancelled by user and there was no log. (Not incremental - first time through.)
Cancelled backup job job_001. -------- Backup Job Information -------- Backup Job Name: job_001 Backup Job Type: Full Protocol: local Backup Source: [home:kandslen]/ Backup Destination: [USB Front]/ Backup Start Time: Fri Oct 15 2021 1:05:02 AM Backup Finish Time: Fri Oct 15 2021 1:05:08 AM Backup Status: Fail: Cancelled by user.

Re: Backup Error: (error: Cannot allocate memory)!
Here's a snip of the recreated error (the error occurs many times before the backup stops):
Backup Job Name: job_full
Backup Job Type: Full
Protocol: local
Backup Source: [volume:data]/
Backup Destination: [USB Front]//readynasbkup
Backup Start Time: Fri Oct 15 2021 1:04:19 PM
Backup Finish Time: Fri Oct 15 2021 1:04:22 PM
Backup Status: Fail: Cancelled by user.
Failed to copy file '/media/USB_HDD_2/readynasbkup/home/kandslen/KimandStan/LAPTOP-33IN5LKD/Data/$OF/108454/122878 (2020_07_27 12_46_00 UTC)' (error: Cannot allocate memory)!

Re: Backup Error: (error: Cannot allocate memory)!
Can you copy the files in the share manually (perhaps moving the USB disk to a PC)?

Re: Backup Error: (error: Cannot allocate memory)!
I can copy individual shares except the one giving me errors. It errors out each time. I will try to reestablish that share from the source again and see if that helps.

Re: Backup Error: (error: Cannot allocate memory)!
Never fixed the error. Dropped the share and rebuilt the source after dropping it's file history (since those were the files it was failing on). Not ideal but I'm beyond the error for now.
