Cannot access my Shares after windows 10 update = SMB1 problem
I need help with my nass , after updating to the latest version of windows 10 a few weeks ago, I lost connectivity via smb to my data/shares.
The problem seems to be related to smb version1 not being secure enough for windows 10.
Has anyone found a solution to this please ?

I seriously doubt that Netgear will backport SMBv3 to the NV+ - it would be a lot of work, and the NAS has been out of production since 2011. SMB signing and encryption would also slow the NAS down (and it is already very slow by current standards).
There are three workarounds
- re-enable the SMB1 client on your PCs and accept the security risk
- install the NFS client on your PCs and enable that on your NAS.
- Get a new NAS that supports SMB3 (RN21x or RN42x are both possibilities), and perhaps use the NV+ for backup.
Running CMD and entering
sc.exe config lanmanworkstation depend= bowser/mrxsmb10/mrxsmb20/nsi
sc.exe config mrxsmb10 start= auto
should enable the SMBv1 client protocol on Windows 10
I believe most versions of Windows 10 will allow you to install Microsoft's NFS client, but I could be wrong on that.
