another idea that would be really really cool, is using the display to show graphs of network/disk thoroughput or at a minimum text display of current/5min/30min ave rates.
similar to how the istat app works.
in summary, there are a huge number of creative ways to use that fancy display that are not currently being utilized. please consider making the most of it, for fun and for utility.
Sounds like a project for one of our community add-on developers. The display can be tied to the istat output.
