Enable follow symbolic / symlink support (http shares)
When you enable http acces for a share, an website is created.
It would be a nice config change to enable "symlink follow" by default.
You for example would be able to create an soft symbolic link to the /USB folder from any share.
You can then copy files/folders to and from the usb device to the shared folder. (Controling this via the webbrowser).
Advantage
- The copy action would be done localy on the nas, so no speedloss trough the network.
- Single file/directory copy selection.
- Controling trough mobile devices.
I think It would be an easy change. Config "options followsymlinks indexes" in the host configuration file.
I tried this manualy, but discovered that after a reboot my changes are reverted back to default.
An obvious alternative of this change request, would be a way to disable the "revert back to default" feature that seems to undo my work..
Kind regard.
