Logs paused

Hi folks,

We've noticed an issue where ReadyNAS alerts stopped recording some time ago and there's no indication as to whether we can resume the logs or why these paused in the first place - Any ideas?

Firmware version 6.5.1 and hesitant to update this until we see recent logs to ensure there's no outstanding issues.

Thanks!

Brandon

Not sure what you mean here, as there is no way to pause the logging.

Are you saying that you are no longer getting emails from the NAS?  What is the most recent entry you are seeing on the logs page of the NAS web ui?

The last recorded logs were on 24th June 2021 and there's nothing more recent.

In Alert Contacts, we can see there's no entry so can only presume there's not been emails going out regarding this NAS.

The most recent log is that volume data resynced, nothing untoward.

Try downloading the full log zip file, and see if there are more recent entries there (for instance, in system.log or kernel.log).  You can also try rebooting the NAS, and see if the reboot message shows up on the Logs page.

I do recommend setting up email alerts for the NAS.  Also, you might want to set up a maintenance schedule (done on the volume settings wheel).

Thanks for your advice - We'll schedule a reboot in for a later date and see how we get on.
