How do I set / checking the configuration of my nas unit to make sure drives are mirroring?

if u see resync drives that means they are mirroring
also if u go to volumes in ui it should show u raid level

In addition to what cpu8088 said, set up email alerts and pay prompt attention to any emails you get related to disk issues or volume degradation.
