RN314 capacity confusion - Data sheet says 24 TB, compatability list lists drives of up to 16 TB?

Greetings.

The RN314 data sheet (page 3) says that the "Total solution capacity internal" is 24 TB. However, the drive compatability list shows compatible drives for the RN314 up to 16 TB in capacity.

Will the system accept and fully recognize/use 4x16 TB drives, or even larger drives in the future?

Thanks!

Welcome to the Community!

The number on the Data Sheet was based on the largest capacity a Hard drive has at the time which is if right (6TB).  ReadyNAS OS 6 and the new models however does Support the latest releases of Hard drives from the manufacturers.

So Yes, 4x16TB is good to go with your RN314 and can be used on larger drives in the future until new drives will change hardware requirements or will change it's technology Smiley Happy

Thanks.

It would be nice if Netgear would add a note to the data sheets that explains that the figure was calculated based on the largest available drives at the time of writing.
