Ready NAS102 goes into read only mode
We recently updated one of the hard drives to a 8TB drive to match the one in the raid 2 slot. Now we are experiencing random times when the system goes to read only mode. So we cannot save work to the NAS. Any ideas on whhat would cause this? Both drives have approx 4TB of free space.

Either one of the disks is failing, or something else has corrupted the file system. Since its intermittent, it's more likely to be one of the disks.
You should make a backup of your files without delay.
Also, download the log zip file from the admin ui. Disk_info.log will give you the smart stats for the two disks. You should also look for disk errors and btrfs errors in system.log and kernel.log.
If the new disk is failing, then exchange it with the seller if you can - you'll get a new disk in exchange. If you use the disk warranty you'll get a recertified disk which generally has a 12 month warranty.
