ReadyNAS - 2 drives working - 1 drive not working - no errors

Hi Team,

I have a ReadyNAS Ultra 4 Plus.

I have 3 hard drives in it.

- 4TB Seagate

- 4TB Seagate

- 3TB WD Green

Until a few days ago, all shares were accessible.

The problem:

Both 4TB drives are working correctly, and sharing content as expected.

The 3TB WD Green is showing up in admin console.

The volume is showing up with no errors. (however the SMART information is missing)

There are no errors in the logs.

I am a little perplexed as to what the issue is. Can anyone offer advice?
I will be able to take some screenshots if required.

Thanks

Scott

What firmware are you running?

What RAID mode are you using?

I suggest downloading the full log zip file, as there could be some clues in there.

The green drive will not display SMART data when it is spun down.  Try to access some data on it before you try to read SMART.  The SMART data in the log file .zip may also be helpful.  It should also re-read SMART on boot, but a reboot at this point may cause more problems.

Thanks for the replies guys, I think the issue might be with the NAS itself.

I have formatted the drives and they are working in Windows, the NAS was not sharing any content at all.

Maybe run the vendor tests in Windows (WD's Lifeguard program and Seatools).  If the long generic tests pass, then try putting the drives back into the NAS and do a fresh factory install.

Also, if you are running Windows 10, check the PC and make sure that the SMB 1/CIFS client is still enabled.
