ReadyNAS 204 - How to automatically connect to shared drive on startup?

Firmware: 6.5.0

I have installed the ReadyCloud Windows client on my PC. I can connect to my ReadyNAS shared drive without any problems as long as I click on the shared folder in the ReadyCloud Windows client.

When I click on my shared folder in the ReadyCloud Windows client, I get redirected to \\IP ADDRESS\SHARED\ FOLDER.

I have a network drive mapped to \\IP ADDRESS\SHARED FOLDER\ but it does not get connected until I click on the shared folder in the ReadyCloud Windows client.

How can I get my network drive working without clicking on the shared folder in the ReadyCloud Windows client.

Did you try to the "manage network password" panel in Windows?

Hi vinnynasoz,

Can you confirm if the computer that you're using to map the drive is on the same network? If not, this is a normal behavior.

Kind regards,

Yes. Same network and same Workgroup.

Why must I manually connect the drives (click on shared folder in ReadyCloud client) when my Windows 10 boots up? Does not make any sense to me.

No not yet. I will try it later this week.

I contacted support and they told me what I am experiencing is the expected behaviour.

Maybe you are right. The shared folder looks for my ReadyCloud credentials to authenticate me and the username and password are stored in the ReadyCloud client. The solution might be to add my ReadyCloud credentials to Windows directly.

Re: ReadyNAS 204 - How to automatically connect to shared drive on startup?

I added my ReadyCloud username and password into Credential Manager -> Windows Credentials. Entered my ReadyNAS \\IP Address followed by my ReadyCloud username and password.

Restarted my PC and it automatically connected to my shared backup folders.

Thanks!
