Are the users connected to the main office with a VPN?
Are you able to access the admin page when outside the office? If so, are you using ReadyCloud?

still not working
Looked into this further - the current HTTP settings for the share allow you to enable access, but do not specify read/write. Access appears to be read only. Not sure if this changed (or when) - other ReadyNAS firmware (4.1.x, 4.2.x) did have controls for read/write via http.
One workaround which does work - enable webdav in the share settings. Then have the users install a webdav client, and use that for access. Cyberduck is one that works (locally for sure - I didn't try it over the WAN).
Though you might as well use ftps with WinSCP or FileZilla (IMO the UI for both of these is somewhat better).

I've done some forum-searching, and it looks like HTTP access to the shares has always been read-only with 6.x.x firmware. Not something I remembered, since I don't access my own NAS that way.
You could deploy ReadyCloud (or NextCloud from rnxtras.com). Then users should be able to upload files from their browser.
ReadyCloud would require a second ReadyCloud account for each user. So NextCloud might be a better option (not sure, as I haven't used it myself).
