Re: ReadyNAS 314 error msg
Do you have an external drive connected to the system?

So the message is correct - and is not an error message - only an indication of status.
Where are you seeing it?

Have you upgraded firmware recently?

Re: ReadyNAS 314 error msg
Maybe ask them to raise the level of email alerts from "info" to "warning".

Re: ReadyNAS 314 error msg
Hi @eaglejudd
This email notification occurs on two occasions:
1. You NAS reboots and then when it comes back up, it will "detect" the USB being connected. That will trigger an email notification.
2. Your USB is removed and re-inserted.
If you did neither of these actions then check if the USB is healthy. It could be damaged and thus loosing connection and then reconnect shortly after. This can usually be checked with USB vendor disk-check tools. Also, perhaps your NAS suffers from unexpected shutdowns?
In any case, whenever a USB drive is "re-connected" to the NAS it will trigger an email alert.
Cheers

6.9.4 firmware added a severity filter (info, warnings, error). Though I'd expect it to be reported when the drive is attached (or when the NAS is powered up) - not "randomly".
If you want a detailed analysis, you should send a private message to one of the mods asking for that - @JohnCM_S or @Marc_V

Hi eaglejudd,
You may download the system logs then provide it to us so we can check it. You may upload it to Google Drive then PM me the download link.
