ReadyNAS 4200 part numbers--???

I'm trying to figure out the differences between the various part numbers for the 12 TB ReadyNAS 4200: RN12G0620, RN12S0620, RN12T0620, RM12T1210... If you look at these on netgear.com and go to Product Specs, it shows the same specs for all of these, which doesn't make any sense. Also, is the 10 GE SFP+ always a separate add-on, or does any of these models include it? If it's always an add-on, what's the part number for it? Thanks for any clues to decipher this confusion.

Re: ReadyNAS 4200 part numbers--???

The 0620 means six drives that are 2TB each. The 1210 means twelve drives that are 1 TB each.
The G means Two 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports with load balancing and failover with 2 CX-4.
The S means Two 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports with load balancing and failover with 2 SFP+.
The T means Two 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports with load balancing and failover.

As for the SFP+ modules, they aren't included with the 4200. The part numbers for them are AXM761 AXM762 and AXM763.

I hope this helps. 🙂

Also, for the T model, it is '10Gbe Ready' meaning you could purchase the SFP+ add-on card at a later time to add to it. The part number is RN12T2SFP.

Re: ReadyNAS 4200 part numbers--???

Thanks for the information!

Will the RN12S0620 also work with SFP+ Direct Attach cables (such as Netgear AXC761-10000S) instead of AXM761/AXM762/AXM763 transceivers?

Re: ReadyNAS 4200 part numbers--???

Since the AXC761 is SFP+ it should work fine for the RN125S0620.
