Can someone please confirm that the ReadyNAS 524X has a maximum HDD capacity of 40TB (4 x 10TB HDDs)?

Nope. 4x10TB was the specified cap because at the time it was released, 10TB was the largest drive available. Now RN524X can handle 4x18TB that means it can handle upto 72TB.

Re: ReadyNAS 524X Maximum HDD Capacity
Thank you for the quick response. So to clarify, the RN524X will accept the 4 10TB drives but only 18TB of the 40TB will be usable. Is that correct?

Re: ReadyNAS 524X Maximum HDD Capacity
Ok. I misunderstood. The 18TB is the maximum capacity for an individual drive in the array. Thanks!

To be clear, it's the largest size drive Netgear has tested. Seagate's recently released 20 TB Ironwolf Pro should also work.
There is no known max size for an individual drive.
