ReadyNAS RN214 data recovery service

My ReadyNAS RN214 crashed and won't even turn on. I am looking for a data recovery service to send the drives to bring back the data. Recomendations?

Thanks

Re: ReadyNAS RN214 data recovery service

Hello @gabopagan ,

And welcome to the NETGEAR Community! 🙂

Yes, we do paid data recovery services. First, we need to confirm whether the issue is with the NAS device or power adapted.

Also please tell configuration you pushed into the NAS while it was running.

If the issue is with the NAS and if you fall under warranty then you can get an RMA of the device and then we will get the SDM and try to recover the data.

If not you can opt for a professional for recovering the data.

In case the issue is with the drive we can change the drive and try recovering the data as well.

Check whether you fall under warranty if yes then we would suggest you contact support for further proceeding.

Thank you. Its a 4+ year old unit. No warranty. I believe the path forward is data recovery.

 Hello @gabopagan,

Then you would need to purchase a new device then proceed with data recovery.

Also, you can hire a data recovery professional to recover the data.

Buying a used ReadyNAS would be cheaper, I think.  But there is no guarantee the volume is intact and that would be all you need.

Can you give more details? Are there any signs that the NAS is getting power (LEDs on the front, something on the front panel, or the ethernet LED lit on the back)?
