ReadyNas 2120 Syncing
Hi,
We have a ReadyNas 2120 which twice over the last two months has randomly started running a sync and stating "The ReadyNas is currently syncing. During this process, the system is still accessible, however, performance and Admin Page responisveness might be impacted".
The logs state:
Wed Feb 19 2020 6:26:41 System: ReadyNASOS background service started.
Wed Feb 19 2020 6:26:38 Volume: Resyncing started for Volume UserNAS_RAID6Volume.
Wed Feb 19 2020 6:26:36 System: ReadyNASOS service or process was restarted.
Wed Feb 19 2020 6:24:35 System: ReadyNASOS background service started.
Wed Feb 19 2020 6:24:30 Volume: Resyncing started for Volume UserNAS_RAID6Volume.
Wed Feb 19 2020 6:24:28 System: ReadyNASOS service or process was restarted.
Does anyone know why this would randomly start? I always assumed this was just when hotswapping disks and the RAID rebuilds but we havent changed any disks.
Its causing us a lot of issues as the devices goes very slow.
I've also attached the error.
Thanks for your help
Jacob

Why did the above restart happen? Perhaps look at the full log zip file.
I believe that is what is triggering the resync.

Re: ReadyNas 2120 Syncing
One common reason is a drive error (often ATA error) that makes the NAS drop the drive from the array, then later pick it up as good and start the re-sync. I just replaced a drive for that exact same issue -- SMART shows 300+ ATA errors.
