ReadyNas Duo V1 takes hours to boot up

I have an old ReadyNas Duo V1 with a couple of 1TB disks in.  There's about 600GB worth of data on it.  When I start it up, it takes about 5 hours to do teh disk check.  Is this normal as it's incredibly annoying.  Is there any way to switch the disk scan off?

No, it's not normal.  I suspect one or both of your drives is failing.  Have you checked the SMART stats?

If you don't have a current backup of the data, now is a good time to do it; before it's too late.
