Sirs, good morrning.
I've installed ubuntu 18.04 in a Readynas 2304. Runs quite fine.
Boot menu selection, to boot from HDD don't survive power cycle. It goes back to boot from internal flash drive.
Is there any way to do it?
Tks, E!

The internal flash is only 128MB or 256MB depending on the model. You can use a syslinux or grub bootloader on the internal flash to chainload onto a hdd i.e. you boot off the internal flash and the bootloader on that switches to booting off a disk.

You could configure the internal flash to chainload onto the HDD using syslinux or possibly grub.

Re: Readynas 2304 boot from HDD
Just a doubt... ReadyNas 2304 load a full debian 8 and declares 4G flash, without any HDD.
Is that the same flash are you referring?

Re: Readynas 2304 boot from HDD
I never had a 2304, so that could be right. The internal flash will have the syslinux bootloader on it.
You could change the normal option in syslinux.cfg to chainload onto the hdd.
